Chaman's Role
Leveraging her extensive coaching and team management experience, Chaman serves as the Head of the Coach Team for the “11 for Health in Pakistan” project. Chaman plays a key role in the implementation and advancement of the project. Her responsibilities include:
– Training and advising the coaching team on how to properly execute the coaching manual to improve children’s physical health and lifestyles.
– Organizing training for the coaching team
– Establishing communication mechanisms between the coaching team and the project team
– Arranging the allocation of coaching staff to different schools on a daily basis
– Detailing and implementing the coaching tasks for each training session
– Assisting the principal investigator in supervising the quality of coaching-Assisting the project manager in constructing the website, drafting newsletters, and promoting the project through various online and offline channels
“The 11 for Health in Pakistan project is a very huge and exciting project that is being undertaken for the first time in Pakistan. As the Head of the coaching team, I am eagerly engaged in this initiative for several compelling reasons. Firstly, it provides me with an opportunity to convey and put into practice my enduring belief that ‘a healthy body is a healthy mind.’ Secondly, it represents a valuable chance to enhance my coaching skills and experience, which I can subsequently apply to benefit both my future players and my personal life. Thirdly, throughout the process of organizing and training athletes to become qualified coaches for the project, I am committed to helping them discover their inherent talents and abilities. Lastly, this project helps us explore how athletes can connect with the community as well as how to transition into coaching or sports teaching roles, thereby fostering long-term career development.”
Introduction of Chaman
Chaman Mushtaq, a senior athlete and coach for the Australian Football League Pakistan team, serves as the Head Coach in the 11 for Health project.
Chaman is passionate about all kinds of Sports and Games. Her athletic journey began in 2011, and through unwavering dedication to training, she has become a national and international player across various sports (Australian football, Basketball, Netball, Baseball, Softball, Throwball, Volleyball, Handball, Tchoukball, Futsal, Cycling, Cricket, Judo, Wushu (Taolu), Darts, Pentathlon, Archery, Squash, Hockey, Indoor Hockey, Hiking, Snow Hiking, Sports Climbling and Rock Climbing). Notably, she represented Pakistan in the IC17 World Cup (Australian football) held in Melbourne, Australia in 2017. Additionally, Chaman competed against Women Baseball Malaysia in Lahore in 2023 and proudly represented Pakistan in the AFL Asian Championship in Chon Buri, Thailand during the same year. Her remarkable achievements include 36 medals—18 gold, 16 silver, and 2 bronze—earned throughout her athletic career. Here are some of her most significant honours and awards:
Gold Medals
2023- Gold medal in Punjab Lazer Run UIPM (Union Internationale De Pentathlon Modern).
2020- Gold medal in Malam Jabba XC MTB Race.
2019- Gold medal in Rawalpindi Women T10 Cricket League.
2014 to 2018- Four times continuous Gold medal in National Snow Hike Championship, category (Female Open).
2018- Gold medal in Wushu (Taolu) in the 4th Inter-Provincial Games.
2017- 1st Place in Quaid-e-Azam Wushu Cup
2017- Gold medal in the Immature category in the “Cycling for All” Race
2017- Gold medal in Softball at Islamabad Sports Festival.
2016- Gold medal in Badminton at Talent Expo Islamabad.
2011-12- Gold medals in Football, Cricket & Cycling, and Silver medals in Hockey in Intercollegiate Sports Tournaments.
Silver Medals
2019- Runner-up in 1st Women’s AFL National Championship.
2018- Silver medal in 5km Marathon Race (Female Open) in Islamabad Spring Festival.
2018- Silver medal in National Darts Cup.
2015- Silver medal in 2nd National Modern Pentathlon Championship.
Bronze Medals
2024- Bronze medal in GSP Chief Minister Punjab Baseball League.
2015- Bronze medal in 2nd Inter-Provincial National Judo Championship.
2013- Bronze medal in (-40kg) 2nd HEC Intervarsity Women Judo Championship.
Chaman’s expertise in sports extends beyond being an athlete, she has worked in different sports events as a Technical. Chaman is also an experienced sports coach in many sports including Australian Football, Football, Futsal, Baseball, Hockey, Cricket and Tchoukball. Moreover, Chaman possesses considerable experience in sports team management and coordination. In addition to being captain of various sports teams, she has also registered her Baseball Club named CBWC (Chaman Baseball Women Club) under Sports Board Punjab and her AFL Aussie Rules Football Club named Islamabad/Rawalpindi Women Footy Club. She has been accredited as a Foundation Senior by Julia Lawrence, National Coach Development and Education Manager AFL. Throughout her sports leadership career, Chaman has demonstrated her honest, dedicated, caring, and helpful personality, which won her respect and reputation from her teammates.
Besides her dedication to her sports career, Chaman is active on media. She has acted in the Pakistani Drama 22 Qadam participated in a Movie on Football and also worked in the Telefilm Triggers. She spares no effort in promoting sports awareness to the public and popularizing a variety of games. She is enthusiastic about sharing her life stories to motivate more females to participate in physical activities, sports and games.
Chaman has done Bachelor’s in Humanities from Quaid-e-Azam University Islamabad in 2016 and got her MSc degree from Sarhad University of Science & Information Technology in 2018. She started her job as a Sports Teacher in various Institutions in 2016. Currently, she is working as a Sports Teacher at BSS (Beaconhouse School System) Potohar Campus.
