Five Schools in Islamabad Have Completed the Pre-Test for the “11 For Health In Pakistan” Project

To assess the impact of the “11 for Health in Pakistan” initiative on the physical fitness and mental health of local students in Islamabad, we included an 11-week football course as well as two rounds of physical testing and questionnaire surveys at the start and end of the program. As a result, the project team administered the pre-test at five local schools between May 20th and June 7th, 2024.

During the first three days of the pre-test, Mr. Farman Ullah, the principal investigator, directed the coach team in conducting a variety of tests at two primary schools. To improve efficiency, the subsequent tests were undertaken by subgroups in designated schools.

Given the constraints of sports venues and facilities within campuses, measurements such as height and blood pressure were performed in the classroom, while the standing long-jump was conducted in the corridor outside the classroom, thus leaving the open space for sprint, Yo-Yo test, and other vigorous activities. Before the start of the physical tests, the coaching team led the students to warm up and explained in detail the process and requirements of each test. The questionnaire survey was completed in the classroom during the intervals of physical tests.

Through scientific evaluation of its effect, we anticipate that the “11 for Health in Pakistan” project will have a positive impact on the participating students, both physically and mentally.
